China sharply increases its own production of coal, reducing its imports |
|
Representatives of the National Energy Administration of China
announced in the evening on April 22, 2011 that in China created 10 large companies, the total coal production
which will 90% of total coal production in China. As expected, these companies together can provide
increased
energy needs of China, which will increase by at least 11.89 percent. As reported, China
imported 32.4 million tons of coal in the first quarter of 2011, which is 26.43 percent less, than the same period
of 2010. The main reason for this sharp decline in imports of coal - an increase of coal price
from $90 to $ 120
per ton, due to increased coal imports in Japan and floods in Australia. As expected, China's demand for
coal production in 2011 will be at least 1.923 billion tons.
