Singapore Changi Airport is roughly 20 km/12 miles north-east of central Singapore. This international hub is just outside the world's top 20 busiest airports in terms of passenger numbers (upwards of 35 million) and currently ranks as number nine for cargo movements. Singapore Changi Airport is arguably one of the world's impressive airports, and comes complete with a swimming pool on the roof that passengers can use between flights, along with a large cactus garden and open-air bar.

The facility has won almost 300 awards and has recently been voted the 'World's Best Airport' by the UK-based travel company Skytrax. Public transport at Singapore Changi Airport links the Colonial Core, the crowded streets of Chinatown, the neighbourhood of Little India, and also the Financial District.

Buses and trains are operated by the Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT), while also available are Airport Shuttle maxi-cabs for up to six passengers and 24-hour taxis, allowing you to reach the nearby suburbs of Bukit Timah, Johor Baharu, Jurong, Pasir Gudang and Queenstown.

The taxi service works round the clock. Travel time is 30 minutes. Taxi fare is from $18 to $38.  Also, it is possible to take four or a six-seater limousine-taxi.
