A team of U.S. scientists published in Environmental Science & Technology results of his research on the impact of by-products, formed during the disinfection
of water,on the development of neurological diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. The scientists found several hundred by-products of disinfection and one
of the most toxic are galogen acids, whose presence in water leads to an increase in the rate of oxidative processes in human tissues, particularly brightly this
process is manifested in the neurons, which may lead to a number of neurological diseases and Alzheimer's disease. However, it is not necessary to prohibit all
filters for drinking water, as these results should be confirmed or denied based on the analysis of a larger sample of subjects.
