According to Reuters, scientists from the U.S. were able to confirm therapeutic effect of low doses of alcohol on the heart. It is reported, that all were surveyed about 1,200 women, hospitalized with heart attack. The survey revealed, that the mortality rate among non-drinking women was 2.5 times higher, than women which regularly consume alcohol. However, it is unlikely, that a lower level of mortality of drinking women is linked with alcohol, more likely, than not that sober women were more exposed to stressors, resulting in excessive load on the heart.
