According to representative of Singularity University at NASA, - in the near future the achievements of synthetic biology can be used to create a fundamentally new type of biological weapons, where the artificial bacteria and viruses will use as attacker's agent. According to Mark Goodman, a spokesman for Decision Strategies, achievements of synthetic biology may be the basis for the emergence of new forms of bioterrorism, in which the possible artificial synthesis of the biological virus that would "break" the human brain and control human behavior in much the same way as do modern computer viruses with the operating systems, installed on the computers. Note, that even in 2010 was announced about creating of synthetic biological cell, based on the program, compiled on the computer. In the near future will create a gene bank, containing DNA fragments, which can be used to create of new kinds of living beings.
