According to the Daily Mail, Canadian biologists, led by Rajendhran Rajakumar from the University of
McGill, can to recreate the type of the ancient super-soldier-ants, which have huge heads and powerful jaws,
much higher than normal jaws of modern ants (see the photo). Experiments were carried out over
ants of Pheidole morrisi, researchers injected in the normal larvae of ants the special hormone, which acted as
catalyst for specific genes of the ants, are responsible for the development of his muscles, and the size of an external skeleton - as a result of this
there was a disproportionate development of the jaws and head of the ants, making more of these ants
adapted to deal with their brethren as well as with other kinds of insects. Note, that these genes in the many
modern ants are depressed, and if found in the wild, it is a sign of
atavisms of individuals of ants, but not a sign of a particular species of ants, but in the prehistoric period, these genes
were decisive in the struggle for existence of ants. Experiments of Canadian biologists have shown the virtually
opportunity to recreate the prehistoric species of insects, that can destroy many types of modern animals.
