The Japanese newspaper "Yomiuri" today reported, that a group of scientists from the Research Institute of Seismology at the University of Tokyo,
greatly appreciated the chance of recurrence of strong earthquakes in the Tokyo metropolitan area in the next four years. As reported the scientists, a
new earthquake with M7 is most likely due to increased seismic activity in the Tokyo area after a major earthquake of March 11, 2011. Previously it
was thought, that a new large earthquake will occur no earlier than after 20-30 years, and now the time span expectations greatly reduced, because of
the continuing seismic activity in this region of Japan. As scientists have discovered over the past 10 months- the seismic activity in the Tokyo area
rose nearly fivefold, from March 2011 to December 2011 r in the Tokyo area occurred an average of 1.5 earthquakes per day with magnitudes
from M3 to M6.
