A team of researchers from George Washington University, USA reported that more than 30 million U.S. residents may suffer from dependence on tan – the tanorexia, as a result these people are in psychological dependence on the ultraviolet rays. Charles Semenou believes, that tanorexia causes the same sense of addiction such as alcoholism and drug addiction. As a result of his studies found, that the ultraviolet rays activate the blood flow to parts of the brain, responsible for pleasure and addictive, so people tend to regain a sense of pleasure and be back under ultraviolet light. It is reported, that this is relevant especially for the visitors all sorts of tanning beds - from professional to domestic fixed.
