The famous Russian astronomer Leonid Elenin from Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics, said today for the Russian news agency RIA-Novosti that comet, opened in December 2010, which is often called Comet Elenin, has been completely destroyed and will not under any circumstances reach the Earth. According to Leonid Elenin, the destruction of comet confirms its absence in the photos of SOHO solar observatory, as is currently the telescope of the observatory was not able to fix its appearance. However, it is possible, that fragments of the comet continued to fly by similar orbit and in October 2011 these fragments can be seen with telescopes on Earth.
