A group of Russian and French researchers, based on analysis of infrared spectrometer SPICAM (Spectroscopy for Investigation of Characteristics of the Atmosphere of Mars), installed aboard Mars probe "Mars Express", concluded, that the Martian atmosphere contains water vapor is ten times more than previously thought. A higher concentration of water vapor in the Martian atmosphere can be due to the supersaturated state of the of water vapor. However, more accurate data will be available after the launch in 2013 of a special NASA Mars probe to study the Martian atmosphere.
