A group of scientists from the Institute of the Finnish Aalto, was able to record the sounds of the aurora. Record of aurora was made using three microphones, that record the sounds that occur in the surface layers of the atmosphere under the influence of processes occurring at altitudes of about 100 kilometers, where the ionization of air particles, which causes the aurora. According to Professor Unto Laine, record audio on a high altitude is not possible, so only the sound vibrations in the surface layers of the atmosphere can serve as evidence of the beginning of the aurora, because for unknown reasons until the beginning of the aurora is always associated with the sound vibrations in the atmosphere at low altitudes.
