On the Russians run out of money on arms

In an unstable economic situation, the adoption of state armaments program, the cost of which is estimated at 30 trillion rubles, the plan to move for three years.

The Russian government may postpone approval of a new state armaments program for three years due to the unstable economic situation, writes "Kommersant", citing sources in the Cabinet and presidential administration.

It was assumed that the document that defines the number of military products and terms of supply security officials on the years 2016-2025, will be submitted to the Head of State in December 2015. According to the newspaper, at a meeting of the President's Military-Industrial Commission on January 20, Vladimir Putin agreed to postpone approval of the program from 2015 to 2018.

In terms of financing, this is the state program of record: military originally estimated it at 56 trillion rubles, and then reduced to 30 trillion rubles. Now the program and going at all postponed until better times.

The publication notes that so far the cost of procurement of military equipment, as well as social costs were considered untouchable budget item.

While the military and industry will focus on the implementation of the current state armament program for 2011-2020, which was adopted under President Dmitry Medvedev. However, it may be subjected to reduction. About 500 billion rubles from the program already moved in 2017 to a later period.
