Today was launched into production of pilot batches universal microprocessors Elbrus-8C, with estimated operating frequency of 1.3 GHz. Computational power of this processor 250 gigaflops, and it is made by technology - 28 nm. Getting ready-made samples of chips is expected in October 2014.

Elbrus microprocessor-8C - completely Russian development, which is engaged in ZAO "MCST". Its crystal designed for 28 nm technology, has 8 cores with improved 64-bit architecture Elbrus third generation cache level 2, totaling 4 megabytes and third level of 16 megabytes.
On the basis of this development is planned to organize mass production servers, workstations and other computer equipment intended for use in public institutions and business structures, demanding performance requirements for information security as well as for use in high-performance computing, signal processing and telecommunications.

By the end of 2014 should see prototypes of four-processor servers based on the Elbrus-8C with a capacity of 1 teraflops.
