Created tattoo-biobatareya to generate energy from sweat

Researchers at the University of California have developed a sensor that responds to the separation of the salt of lactic acid from the sweat that can produce energy that can be transferred into an electronic device. The device quickly became known as "smart" tattoo (smart tattoo).

Sensor separates from salts of lactic acid (lactate) electrons in sufficient quantities to obtain an electric current. On the level of lactate can be judged on the intensity of training the person, but scientists have gone further and built into the device biobatareyku capable to accumulate a small amount of energy. During the experiments conducted we found out that one square centimeter of skin unprepared in sports a person can collect 70 microwatts of energy. It is not so much to charge a smartphone, but rather to support the work of the electronic clock, consuming 10 microwatts of energy.

The researchers said that they are working on improving the technology, and soon the sensor in the form of temporary tattoos to receive and save even more energy, which will use it for practical purposes as a full biobatareyku.

Biobatarei have a number of advantages over conventional batteries: they are faster recharged using renewable energy and are safer for the environment and humans, as it does not emit toxins and does not explode.
