Branch of the Russian Museum opened in Spain in 2015
The first overseas branch of the State Russian Museum opened in February 2015 in the Spanish city of Malaga.
According to the press service of the museum, a branch will be in a former tobacco factory La Tabacalera, where there is a museum - a car. Currently, the premises of the building built in 1920 and restored by re-equip the museum space.
In the permanent exhibition "Russian art from icons to the twentieth century" will include about 100 works.
The Spaniards will be able to see masterpieces from all eras of Russian painting. Among them paintings by Alexei Venetsianov, Karl Briullov, Vasily Tropinin, Isaac Levitan, Valentin Serov, Boris Kustodiev, Ilya Repin, Zinaida Serebryakova, Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Alexander Rodchenko, Kazimir Malevich, Pavel Filonov and other masters.
In addition, the Russian Museum is going over the next 10 years hold a minimum of two temporary exhibitions (every 2-3 months) a year, they will bring about 60 exhibits. In 2015, residents and visitors of the exhibition will see Malaga "Age of Diaghilev" and "Filonov and his entourage."
