From July 15, 2022, Russia has lifted all coronavirus restrictions on crossing the land border, introduced in March 2020. The corresponding document was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to the operational headquarters for the prevention of the importation and spread of coronavirus infection in the Russian Federation.

"Following the discussion, the operational headquarters decided to cancel the epidemically caused temporary restrictions on crossing the state border of the Russian Federation, established by orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation, from July 15," the message says.

In addition, the headquarters decided to cancel the requirement to provide the results of PCR testing for citizens of Belarus upon arrival by air in the Russian Federation.

It is emphasized that for other citizens, the requirements to provide the results of PCR testing remain.

Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, signed a decree that removes the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic.

In June, the operational headquarters lifted restrictions on entry into the Russian Federation for foreign citizens through air and sea checkpoints, but restrictions continued to apply to land transport.

Previously, the Russian land border was completely closed until August 2020.

In March, Rospotrebnadzor decided to ease the rules for entry by land for citizens of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Russians. Residents of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia were not required to present a PCR test for coronavirus when passing through control at the land border.
