From January to May 2018 in Hainan Province, China, the total capacity of
nuclear power, hydropower, wind energy, solar and other clean energy amounted to
3.867 billion kilowatts - it accounted for 34.19% of the electricity generated
by a single system.
When conventional fuel for thermal power plants burns, many different combustion
products start to form, which all experts call harmful, among them chemical
compounds such as ordinary ash, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide,
formaldehyde, sulfur dioxide and other harmful substances.
The increase in the share of clean energy on the island of Hainan is equivalent
to saving 1,152,900 tons of coal, 3,020,600 tons of carbon dioxide reduction,
reduced emissions of sulfur dioxide in the amount of 22,100 tons, to meet the
demand for Hainan electricity, effective environmental protection.
Among them, the share of solar electricity in Hainan Island increased
significantly by 56.78% compared to the same period in 2017, namely the active
development of renewable energy sources should be a guarantee for the
development of Hainan Province in the 21st century.
The introduction of renewable energy sources is gaining popularity throughout
China, but the island of Hainan is one of the Chinese leaders in the
installation of photovoltaic power plants, Hainan annually increases the total
power of solar generation by about 1 GW.
