The Development and Reform Commission of Hainan Province reported that the Haikou Meilan International Airport Expansion Project will be 14.659 billion yuan, in the first half of 2018 the investment was 1.363 billion yuan, and the project is scheduled to be completed in December 2019.

To date, the construction of the terminal zone project at Meilan Airport is completed, 62.5% of the road surface of the flight zone has been completed and 41.6% of the road surface has been completed, construction of transport equipment, bridge construction and pipeline equipment is actively developing.

According to the plan, the expansion project of Meilan Airport will complete the investment in 2018 in the amount of 3 billion yuan. After the completion of the Meilan Airport expansion project, the T2 international terminal will reach 45,000 square meters, and international passenger traffic will reach 4.2 million passengers, which will be one of the first places in China.
