In recent days, an amazing and incredible message has been circulating on Russian social networks (taking into account the epidemiological situation both in China and in Russia) that allegedly "the Ministry of Education and Science sent instructions with prices for students traveling to China on April 28-29 on the wings of Hainan Airlines by Moscow-Shenzhen route.
However, we could not find any confirmation of this information in official sources.
So on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science (Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation) it was not possible to find any news about student charters to China at all - the latest news found about China on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science is dated November 26, 2021 and there is no news about any charters for students.
No confirmation of this information was found on the website of the Chinese Embassy in the Russian Federation.
Also, on the website of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China, no reports were found either about charters with students from Russia to China, or about charters to China in general at the present time, but a message was found (https://beijing.mid.ru/ru /poleznye_ssylki/ros_studentam/rossiyskim_studentam/), which states (quote):
"On the possible terms of entry into the PRC for the purpose of study: information for Russian applicants, students and graduate students of Chinese universities
At present, visa restrictions imposed by the Chinese side in 2020 in connection with the coronavirus pandemic continue to operate in China. Entry study visas of the PRC to foreign citizens, both of Russia and of all other countries with which the PRC has established a visa regime, are not issued.
The prospects for opening China's borders to foreign students in 2022 are directly related to the epidemiological situation and vaccination rates in various countries of the world, as well as the presence or absence of mutual recognition of the vaccines used. Chinese universities have organized distance learning for foreign students abroad. The Ministry of Education of the PRC and the Scholarship Committee of the PRC recommend that foreign students keep in touch with Chinese universities, which will notify students of the timing and procedure for entry, including in terms of quarantine requirements, which may differ in cities and provinces of China and are established by regional operational headquarters for combating coronavirus, based on the epidemiological situation.
In connection with the requests of Russian citizens to the Embassy of Russia in the PRC for assistance in coming to China for the purpose of study, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the issues of issuing entry visas of the PRC are within the exclusive competence of the consular offices of the PRC abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and Chinese universities also do not have the ability to set the deadlines for the entry of foreign students into China before a decision is made by the operational headquarters for combating coronavirus.
The Embassy is in close contact with the relevant departments of the PRC. We will promptly inform about any changes in the current rules for the entry of foreign students to China."
Thus, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China receives the latest information on the formation of the possibility of traveling to China from Russia for students and other foreigners, and it is likely that the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China will be the first to publish such information, but at the moment no information was found on the website of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in China such information about student charters
