Three major airports in Haikou, Boao and Sanya, Hainan, China received over 1 million passengers during the holidays

On National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, Hainan has become a popular tourist destination for people across the country during this year's Golden Week, as the three main hubs to and from Hainan Meilan International Airport ("Meilan Airport"). Sanya Phoenix International Airport (“Phoenix Airport”) and Qionghai Boao International Airport (“Boao Airport”), there were about 7,000 inbound and outbound flights, and the total passenger traffic exceeded 1 million.


On the first day of Golden Week, the three major HNA airports in Hainan have repeatedly set new records in various metrics. On October 1, Meilan Airport's one-day passenger turnover surpassed 65,000, a record high since the epidemic, showing positive year-on-year growth.


As of October 1, 2020, the annual passenger traffic of Sanya Phoenix Airport exceeded 10 million, which is also the tenth consecutive year that the passenger traffic of Phoenix Airport exceeds 10 million, an increase of 16.5% over the same period last year; 2,918 flights are expected, up 16.4% year-on-year, and overall operations continue to maintain a strong recovery trend.


Boao Airport's passenger and flight volume on the double holiday increased 500% year-on-year. At the same time, this year Boao Airport performed about a hundred flights during Golden Week and National Day, and the passenger turnover exceeded 10 thousand.
