Malaysia wants to replace China as top electronics exporter to Russia

According to Russian media, the Malaysian authorities will consider any request from Russia regarding the supply of semiconductors and electronics, Malaysian Ambassador to Russia Bala Chandran said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Malaysian Ambassador to Russia Bala Chandran noted that he is currently not aware of any negotiations at the government level, but expressed hope for a dialogue between businesses, as Malaysia is one of the largest exporters of semiconductors with an annual volume of 8.7 billion dollars.

The Malaysian Ambassador to Russia said that the Malaysian economy is very open: "Malaysia is an open trading state where the business sector will respond to the demand and supply of products to the world market, including semiconductors, electronics and electronic devices."

Earlier, the Taiwanese company ASUS, engaged in the production of electronics and computer equipment, announced the suspension of deliveries to Russia due to problems with logistics that arose as a result of sanctions imposed against Moscow.
