We are starting a new column on our website - “What is being discussed in Chinese social networks of Hainan Islands, China,” if readers are interested, we will continue this column. We start with a description of the case, which is now widely debated by the Chinese in Hainan, the case of hotel workers peeping tourists.
So, on August 7, 2019, Chinese tourists Ms. Wang and Mr. Chen went to rest in Sanya on Hainan Island, China and stayed at a hotel on the main street of the city - Jifang Street (photo of the hotel in the first photo).
However, at 10 o’clock in the evening, after Mr. Chen took a shower, he suddenly found out that in the set-top box, which was under the TV, there was a small video camera that was connected to the Internet (photo of the set-top box in the second photo).
Mr. Chen and his girlfriend were very scared, they reported this to the Sanya police and at the same time found the person in charge of this hotel.
The same night, the police dismantled the set-top box and found this video camera, and then the hotel’s general manager was taken back to the police station for investigation. At 5:16 pm on August 2019, the manager, who was under police investigation, contacted Mr. Chen on his own initiative and apologized. But Chinese tourists insisted on continuing the investigation.
Currently, the police continue to investigate this matter and find out the total number of installed cameras and the number of people who became participants in this Hainan "show behind the glass." Please note: we cannot guarantee the veracity of this story, since we did not communicate with the participants in this story personally, we only translated this story from Chinese into Russian and English from the social network of Hainan Province on the Internet.
