The fourth forum on island economic development and international cooperation was held in Haikou on Hainan, China

The fourth forum on economic development and international cooperation on the islands, organized by the Haikou Institute of Economics and organized by the Research Base for Green Development and the Modern Service Industry, was held in Haikou on Hainan Island, China from December 5 to 7, 2019.


The conference was attended by over 60 experts and scientists from universities, research institutes and companies from China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and Indonesia.


The theme of this forum is “Hainan's Economic Development and International Cooperation in the Context of the Comprehensive Deepening of Reform and Openness.” It will contribute to the comprehensive deepening of Hainan's reform and opening up, the construction of a pilot free trade zone and the construction of a free trade port with the characteristics of China. Countries and regions along the route exchange and cooperate in the economic and cultural fields, and also jointly contribute to the development of island economies to contribute wisdom and strength.


At the forum, Luo Guangqiang, deputy dean of the School of Economics at Hunan Agricultural University, and Chen Jianghua, dean of the School of Economics and Management at Hefei University, made proposals for the economic development of Hainan, taking into account two aspects of Hainan's open industrial structure and intellectual property protection.
